Rixxo sponsors the 2026 Talk Club Cup
3 min read
On Friday 22 May, Bristol came together at Ashton Gate for the second Talk Club Cup, a charity football match raising funds and awareness for men’s mental health.
We were proud to be front-of-shirt sponsors of the Bristol City legends side, with the Rixxo logo on display on the pitch in front of nearly 3,000 people.
The event was organised by Bristol City Robins Foundation, Bristol Rovers Community Trust and Talk Club, a UK men’s mental health charity dedicated to helping men improve their mental fitness, break down stigma and find safe spaces to talk.
Suicide touches more people than you think
In Bristol alone, an average of 25 men take their own lives every year. The devastation it causes is far-reaching, and with the right support in place, so much of it is preventable. When the opportunity came up to sponsor the Talk Club Cup, it felt like exactly the kind of cause we wanted to put our name to.
“Talk Club and the Robins Foundation are doing genuinely important work that deserves more attention and more support. We didn’t want to just admire it from the sidelines. Sponsoring the Talk Club Cup was an easy decision, and being part of an evening like that, in this city, with this many people behind a cause that matters, was something we are really proud of.”

What happened on the night

The atmosphere at Ashton Gate was brilliant from the moment the gates opened at 5 pm. Fans enjoyed a live DJ, face painting, a Panna Cage and stalls where they could speak directly with Talk Club and the Robins Foundation about the support available across Bristol.
As part of our sponsorship, we had a box for the evening and were brilliantly looked after throughout. The team brought their families along, and the kids got to meet both squads before kick-off, which made for a really special night all round.
On the pitch, the Bristol City legends side were captained by club icon Scott Murray, with familiar faces including Louis Carey, Wade Elliott, Ryan Harley, Cole Skuse and Tristan Plummer all taking part. They faced a Bristol Rovers XI captained by Lee Mansell, with Bristol drum and bass legend Roni Size among the Rovers celebrities.

City ran out convincing 4-0 winners on the night, claiming the trophy back from Rovers, who had won the inaugural edition 3-2 at Memorial Stadium back in 2025.
The half-time entertainment saw participants from the Foundation’s Robins Talk mental health programme take to the pitch, bringing the evening’s purpose into focus. A silent auction gave fans the chance to manage their team from the dugout, with the winning City manager, Jacob Dyer, describing the evening as “brilliantly organised” and noting a real sense of positivity throughout the stadium.
The work that continues beyond the final whistle
Events like the Talk Club Cup raise money, but their bigger job is to reduce isolation and make it easier for men to talk before they reach a crisis point.
All money raised goes directly into Talk Club and mental health programmes delivered by Bristol City Robins Foundation and Bristol Rovers Community Trust, right here in the city. Programmes like Robins Talk create regular, accessible spaces where men can connect, move and talk openly.
That kind of preventative, community-based support is what makes a long-term difference.

Support the cause
If this resonates with you, please consider donating to Talk Club directly. Every contribution helps fund the work that keeps men in Bristol connected and supported.
We are proud of our city, and prouder still to have played a small part in an evening that was about something much bigger than football.
