Mid-Level | Remote-First | B2B eCommerce

A consulting role focused on client delivery and contributing to Rixxo’s evolving processes. You’ll work with autonomy, bring lived ecommerce experience to client relationships, and help shape what great strategic consulting looks like.

As a Strategy Consultant at Rixxo you’ll lead strategic relationships with B2B ecommerce clients — running workshops, facilitating planning sessions, and guiding clients from ambition to measurable outcome. You’ll work primarily remotely with client-site time as needed, operating with real autonomy and access to senior support when you need it.

You’ll use our Foundations™ and SPIN APE™ frameworks to structure your work and contribute to their evolution over time.

Strategy consultant role in detail

Core Responsibilities

Lead Platform Selection

  • Guide clients through platform selection using our SPIN APE™ framework
  • Start with needs before features — focus on business outcomes, not technology
  • Conduct thorough discovery across Situation, Process, Impact, and Needs
  • Structure vendor engagement: align vendors with business context, manage proposals, and evaluate responses objectively
  • Ensure platform decisions serve business goals, people, and process
  • Collaborate with solution architects during later evaluation stages

Lead Clients to Success

  • Run workshops and lead client onboarding using our Foundations™ framework
  • Facilitate goal discovery and translate client ambitions into SMART objectives
  • Define milestones as moments in time, not features or functions
  • Break down goals into achievable milestones with clear dependencies
  • Stay engaged through execution, maintaining strategic alignment
  • Work autonomously across service tiers, accessing senior support when needed

Deliver Strategic Value

  • Lead strategy sessions, quarterly reviews, and annual planning
  • Use data to guide recommendations and identify growth opportunities
  • Monitor performance and adjust plans to optimise client outcomes
  • Set measurement frameworks that track meaningful business results

Grow Client Accounts

  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing client relationships
  • Contribute to proposals and later-stage sales conversations
  • Generate new business through referrals, events, and networking
  • Represent Rixxo at industry events and build partner relationships

Contribute to Rixxo

  • Evolve and improve our service offering and processes
  • Document what works and codify repeatable approaches
  • Create content for case studies and marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate across the team to solve client challenges

About You

Essential Experience

  • Lived experience working inside a B2B ecommerce business (any point in career, client-side)
  • Experience in digital transformation and technology selection
  • Understanding of how technology serves people and processes
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort with data-driven decision making
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops and strategic planning sessions
  • Experience translating complex goals into actionable plans
  • Ability to work autonomously in remote and client-site environments
  • Commercial judgement and ROI thinking

Valued

  • Understanding of platform capabilities and system integration
  • Experience with modern reporting and data visualisation tools
  • Familiarity with project management and documentation platforms
  • Knowledge of B2B ecommerce platforms and ecosystem

Role-Specific Experience

  • Experience delivering strategic projects in B2B ecommerce
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently
  • Track record of delivering business outcomes through strategic work
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders

We operate three service tiers based on engagement intensity and velocity:

  • Advisory Access Light-touch advisory for clients needing strategic guidance without deep involvement. Lower intensity, flexible cadence.
  • Collaborative Partner Co-pilot partnership working alongside client teams. Regular engagement with moderate intensity.
  • Embedded Leadership Fractional leadership operating with autonomy and strategic ownership. High intensity, high velocity.

Strategy Consultants work across all tiers. Target capacity is 80% client work with 20% for Rixxo contribution.
