In Brief

As a Strategy lead, you will guide clients through digital transformation, platform selection, and the strategic initiatives that shape their long-term success. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will anchor decisions in measurable business outcomes, ensuring technology, people, and process come together in a way that delivers real organisational impact.

You will operate at a senior level across our highest-intensity service tiers. Your role blends strategic delivery with leadership, both in shaping internal capability and in steering complex client relationships. You will mentor consultants, set delivery standards, and ensure our strategic frameworks evolve as Rixxo grows.

This is a role for a commercially minded strategist who is confident in making judgment calls, managing ambiguity, and leading engagements with autonomy. You will help clients articulate goals, define milestones, evaluate technology, and maintain strategic alignment throughout delivery.

You’ll also play an active part in driving Rixxo forward—building our service offering, influencing our sales approach, creating thought-leadership content, and strengthening our position in the B2B ecommerce space.

Strategy lead role in detail

Key responsibilities

  • Lead Platform Selection
  • Guide clients through platform selection using the SPIN APE™ framework
  • Focus on needs before features, prioritising outcomes over technology
  • Conduct discovery across Situation, Process, Impact, and Needs
  • Structure and manage vendor engagement and proposals
  • Evaluate vendor responses using data-driven scoring
  • Collaborate with solution architects during later evaluation stages
  • Ensure platform decisions serve business goals, people, and process

Lead clients to success

  • Run workshops and onboarding using Foundations™
  • Facilitate SMART goal discovery
  • Define milestones as moments in time
  • Maintain alignment throughout execution with fractional-leadership autonomy
  • Translate goals into achievable milestones with clear dependencies

Deliver strategic value

  • Lead strategy sessions, quarterly reviews, and annual planning
  • Use data to guide recommendations and identify growth opportunities
  • Set measurement frameworks and monitor performance
  • Make commercial decisions on investment and resource allocation

Grow client accounts

  • Identify expansion opportunities
  • Support proposals and later-stage sales conversations
  • Generate new business through referrals, events, and networking
  • Represent Rixxo at industry events and build partner relationships

Contribute to Rixxo

  • Evolve our service offering and internal processes
  • Document and codify approaches
  • Create content for case studies and marketing
  • Collaborate across the team to solve client challenges

Shape the team

  • Build capability through hiring, mentoring, and development
  • Place consultants on suitable engagements
  • Set delivery standards for strategic consulting

  • Shape our sales approach and proposal methodology
  • Contribute to leadership decisions on service direction

Day-to-day

  • Running workshops and discovery sessions
  • Steering vendor processes and evaluation
  • Supporting consultants and reviewing their work
  • Leading client strategy check-ins
  • Making commercial recommendations based on data

  • Quarterly reviews and annual planning cycles
  • Proposal contributions and sales conversations
  • Attending industry events to strengthen relationships
  • Contributing to frameworks, documentation, and service evolution

About You

Essential experience

  • Lived experience inside a B2B ecommerce business
  • Strong background in digital transformation and technology selection
  • Analytical capability with comfort using data for decision-making
  • Proven facilitation and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to work autonomously across remote and client-site settings
  • Commercial judgement and ROI-driven thinking

Role-specific

  • 7+ years in consulting or leadership roles
  • Proven success in leading strategic B2B ecommerce initiatives
  • Experience developing teams
  • Track record of client account growth and referrals
  • Confident external representation of the business
  • Ability to balance delivery with business development
